Titled: “Stowed and in the off position”

I love the title of this picture. I actually stole it from my friend Brandon. For those who don’t travel much by airplane that is. That is the customary verbiage used by the flight attendant when it is time to put away the electronics.

I think this is one of the most amazing shots I’ve taken, I won’t reveal how or where I was but it turned out spectacular.

One of the first things I notice when I look at this picture are the lines. Lines that can take you many different directions.

It’s funny i just had a conversation with one of my best friends about the movie butterfly effect and how one small change can drastically change the outcome of a situation.

These lines are no different. Some lead downtown, some lead to the water, some dead end, some lead into other lines. The important thing to take away is that life does not have one clear path to success or failure.

Sometimes we will head down dead ends and have to turn around, sometimes we will take the long way to get to a destination.

Life is funny like that, and you often don’t know what’s at the end of the road until you get there. It’s better to find your destination before you commit to a road. Have goals, have plans, have back up plans. Success is all but a stop sign away.

Titled: “Mile High City”

Ok really, it’s not the mile high city. It’s just me a mile high over the city of chicago Much different.

Most people who know me know that I am super afraid of heights, yet I am always up for roller coasters, flying, and I’m strongly contemplating sky diving. Keyword, contemplating.

Heights, view, vision are all important to photography. One thing that’s really interesting about photography is POV. As I’ve continued in my new art I realize we all see things very different. As a photographer it’s my responsibility to see things that most people don’t. I’m still working on it, but at least I understand now.

I thought this was a great shot of the city of Chicago so much that it looks like a postcard or even a smaller scale model of the city.

I’m hoping I can get more of these over time. Be on the lookout for more!!!!
